MikeCheck: Grizzlies Draft Files – The Case of Trae Young
For starters, Young became the first player in Division I history to lead the nation in both scoring (27.4) and assists (8.7) last season. The threat of his scoring and extensive three-point range (118 made threes in 32 games) would be a lethal boost to a Memphis offense sputtering near the bottom of the league.

MikeCheck: Grizzlies Draft Files – Wendell Carter Jr.
There’s essentially zero bust potential in Carter. So there’s little to no chance the team that drafts him will be making anything other than a smart, solid decision on a post player who will be in the NBA for a decade.

MikeCheck: Grizzlies Draft Files – Michael Porter Jr.
Back surgery and that understandably underwhelming college production aside, Porter boasts he’s the best player in the draft. He vows to prove he’s every bit as dominant a prospect as he was when he emerged as the No. 1-rated prep player in the country a year ago.
MikeCheck: Grizzlies Draft Files – The Case of Collin Sexton
The Grizzlies were represented among nearly 60 scouts who descended on Tuscaloosa in January to watch Sexton lead the Crimson Tide past Young’s Sooners in college basketball’s most anticipated matchup outside of the NCAA Tournament. Sexton is a bulldog of a point guard as a physical defender with a 6-7 wingspan that far exceeds others in the draft at his position, with the exception of the gangly Gilgeous-Alexander, who stands 6-6 and has a condor-like 6-11 wingspan. Sexton is also a downhill playmaker who is a blur in transition and unstoppable at getting into the lane to attack the rim.
