MikeCheck: Grizzlies Offseason Outlook – Jarell Martin |
Outside of rookies, arguably no one took
a bigger step in improvement over the
course of the season than Martin. And
that might be an understatement. |
MikeCheck: Grizzlies Offseason Outlook – Marc Gasol |
Gasol finished a second straight season
on his feet and appears in the best
shape of his career. At age 33 and two
years removed from foot surgery,
that’s highly encouraging. His 25
double-doubles shouldn’t be dismissed
in the rubble of a crumbled season,
considering they were three off his
career high of 28 double-doubles in
2010. |
MikeCheck: Grizzlies Offseason Outlook – Chandler Parsons |
If incremental progress was the goal,
then Parsons took a few small steps in
the right direction in Year Two with
Memphis. He played in two more games
than he did in his first Grizzlies
season, and shot a career-high
42.1-percent on threes in 36
appearances. |
MikeCheck: Grizzlies Offseason Outlook – JaMychal Green |
Green posted career-best numbers and
proved to be irreplaceable from a
production standpoint at power forward.
Green is the Grizzlies’ most
relentless rebounder and versatile
defender when healthy. |
MikeCheck: Grizzlies Offseason Outlook – Mike Conley |
Barring any setbacks, there’s no
reason to believe Conley can’t return
to the form from his career season a
year ago. Conley feels largely
responsible for how this season got
away. Expect him to be as hungry as ever
to set things right next season. |
MikeCheck: Grizzlies Offseason Outlook – J.B. Bickerstaff |
The point is clear: whether it’s the
franchise center or a developing
prospect trying to stay in the league,
Bickerstaff coached with the same
accountability. His time has come for a
shot at the job on his terms. |
Thank You, Grizz Nation! |
On behalf of the entire Grizzlies’
organization, players and coaching
staff, we’d like to thank you and all
of Grizz Nation for your amazing loyalty
and continued support this season. |

Grizzlies interim coach J.B. Bickerstaff
may not be quite ready to evaluate the
job he’s done under tough
circumstances, but he’s certain about
the progress made by several of the
team’s younger prospects this season. |
