 Wizards can't keep up with Blazers, fall 119-109
 Nearing the end of a five-game homestand that opened with a pair of wins, the Wizards will now have to look to Tuesday to finish the stretch over .500. Two nights after a loss to Brooklyn, Washington (5-11) faltered out of the gate Sunday and couldn’t keep pace with the Trail Blazers, falling 119-109 in D.C.
 Wizards and Blazers meet again
 Coming off wins in three of their last four games, the Wizards will host the Portland Trail Blazers on Sunday at 6:00 P.M. This is the Wizards’ fourth home game in a row, while the Blazers are in the midst of a six-game road trip. The Wizards defeated the Blazers 125-124 in an overtime thriller in Portland in October.
 Wizards stifled by Nets, 115-104
 In what was a tough shooting night, the Wizards fell to the Brooklyn Nets on Friday night, 115-104. Dwight Howard led the Wizards with 25 points and 17 rebounds, Bradley Beal added 20 points, and Kelly Oubre Jr. scored 18 off the bench.

 In early October, members of the Wizards production team were brainstorming ideas for a song to pick for the team’s introduction video for City Edition jersey nights at Capital One Arena.

 Wizards assign Thomas Bryant to Go-Go
 The Washington Wizards announced today that they have assigned Thomas Bryant to the Capital City Go-Go, the team’s NBA G League affiliate. Bryant will travel with Capital City to Wisconsin for its game against the Herd on Friday.
 Green providing spark off the bench
 During the Wizards’ recent 4-2 stretch, newcomer Jeff Green has been a spark off the bench. The DMV native closed out wins in Miami and against Orlando with the starters, and he’s been seemingly making every shot he takes. Green had a double-double against the Heat with 19 points and 10 rebounds and scored 18 against the Magic on Monday.
 Wizards use hot start to bury Cavs, 119-95
 here’s nothing like a long homestand to cure some early-season woes, and the Wizards took another step towards getting back on track Wednesday night. The Cavaliers came to town on the second night of a back-to-back, and Washington jumped all over the struggling Cleveland squad (2-12), speeding away with a wire-to-wire 119-95 victory. It was the Wizards’ third straight win, improving their record to 5-9.
 Wizards continue homestand against Cavs
 The Wizards are back in action on Wednesday night with the Cavaliers. Cleveland comes to D.C. in the midst of a tough start to the season and the team has been battling injuries. The Cavs (2-11) will be playing on the second night of a back-to-back after beating the Hornets at home on Tuesday.
