With Wall on the mend, Wizards prepare to return home
Capital One Arena will be a sight for sore eyes on Wednesday when the Wizards finally return home for the first time since leaving for a 5-game trip way back on December 3. And while the team’s been on the road for over a week, they’ve fared well considering the schedule and the absence of four-time All-Star, John Wall.
Wizards fall in closing seconds to Clippers, 113-112
The Wizards came back from down 14 in the second half to the Clippers in a Saturday matinee, but the Clippers won in the closing seconds on a Lou Williams’ 3-pointer, 113-112. Otto Porter Jr. led the Wizards with 27 points and 11 rebounds, his seventh double-double of the season. Bradley Beal added 25 points and Mike Scott had 22 points, his most since April 4, 2014 with the Hawks. Williams led the Clippers with 35 points off the bench, including 22 in the second half.

Beal's 34 helps Wizards cruise past Suns
The Wizards added another win to their road trip Thursday in Phoenix, and they did it with a nearly identical formula to their victory on Tuesday. The Wizards moved to 11-1 on the season when holding opponents under 100 points.

 Beal's career-high 51 powers Wizards past Blazers
The Wizards needed to bounce back on Tuesday night in Portland in a big way. A night after what the team unanimously called an embarrassing loss in Utah, Bradley Beal stepped up and delivered exactly what Washington needed. Beal got hot early and never let up en route to a career-high 51 points that steadied the ship as the Wizards pulled away and toppled the Trail Blazers, 106-92.

 Jazz blow out Wizards, 116-69
The Wizards struggled from the get-go in Salt Lake City on Monday, losing in a rout, 116-69. The 47-point loss was the Wizards’ second-worst in franchise history, behind a 52-point loss to Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, and the 1970-71 Milwaukee Bucks. The Jazz used a 28-6 run in the first half to open up a 34-point lead at the half. Otto Porter Jr. led the Wizards with 14 points, while Donovan Mitchell’s 21 points, Alec Burks’ 27 points off the bench, and Rudy Gobert’s return from injury anchored the Jazz.

At the end of the first quarter, the Wizards announced that the team's G League affiliate, coming in 2018-19, will be called the Capital City Go Go.
